Our Story

Packet Bridge Fish & Chips are a quintessential traditional Fish and Chip Shop, serving the freshest fish and finest chips to the people of Bolton-le-Sands and surrounding areas since 2008. We believe in keeping it simple and staying true to our roots; fresh, quality ingredients, prepared and cooked in a clean environment and served with a smile.

Owner Cihan, and brother Cem (Shop Manager) have worked together since day one to make the Packet Bridge what it is today. Cihan and Cem care passionately about every little detail – it’s what defined our approach from the very beginning and it is how it will always be.

The standards set in Packet Bridge have been recognised on a national level within the Fish & Chip Industry in form of the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Award. The award is aimed at improving standards and rewarding shops that provide top quality Fish and Chips in a clean, hygienic and safe environment. The Michelin Star of the Fish & Chip Industry.

Shop manager Cem, is a former Young Fish Frier of the Year Finalist in 2013 and 2014. His knowledge, passion and expertise was recognised in 2017 when he became part of the training team at the National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) Training Academy. Cem provides training courses on Fish & Chip Shop Management, along with in-shop training and assessments at other Fish & Chip Shops around the UK.

This passion for the industry rubbed off on other members of our team with Stephen and Jordan making it into the Final 5 of the Drywite Young Fish Frier of the Year Competition. This was the first time one Fish and Chip Shop had ever had two Young Fish Friers represented in the final. The Packet Bridge team are unbelievably proud of them both.

Our ethos runs through everything we do to maintain the highest standards and consistently. We are passionate about the responsible sourcing and traceability of our produce. We source the finest fish from sustainable waters in the Barents Sea off the coast of Norway. All the Cod & Haddock we source is certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) and frozen within 3 hours of being caught; it doesn’t get much more sustainable or fresher than that. Add to that our dedication to using recyclable and biodegradable packaging, we are doing all we can to ensure there is a future for generations to come.

Fish & Chips is one of the most healthy fast food takeaway options there is. It is made from raw natural produce with no hidden additives. The fish is poached in the seal of our crispy batter meaning the flakes of the fish are moist and succulent- ready to melt in your mouth! Our chips are double cooked in fresh filtered oil for a soft fluffy chip, sealed in a crispy outer.

Finally, our team. They have been the core of our business and are a huge part of our success. We can’t thank them enough for the hard work and dedication they put in to their work on a daily basis. In 2019, Cihan & Cem opened up Westgate Fish & Chips in Morecambe. We hope Westgate Fish and Chips becomes an asset to the Westgate community like the Packet Bridge is been to Bolton-le-Sands!
